Legion Of The Damned are a band from The Netherlands that has had their previous recording reviewed as well as being interview by this zine that plays a mixture of black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2006 album "Malevolent Rapture" which was re-issued in 2012 by Massacre Records as a tribute to one of the band members on the recording that commited suicide and the album is re-named "Malevolent Rapture-In Memory Of" that also contains a good amount of bonus tracks.
Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffs that combine death, thrash and black metal together and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are a mixture of deep death metal growls and high pitched black/thrash metal screams, while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes wi9th an occult edge, as for the production it has a very heavy, powerful, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this was a great album from Legion Of The Damned and I would recommend this to all fans of death/thrash and black metal. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Legion Of The Damned" "Werewolve Corpse" "Malevolent Rapture" and "Demonfist". RECOMMENDED BUY.
