October Tide/Tunnel Of No Light/Pulverised Records/2013 CD Review

October  Tide  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  with  a  musical  style  on  this  recording  of  being  a  mixture  of  black  and  melodic  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "Tunnel  Of  No  Light"  which  was  released  by  Pulverised  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  playing  with  no  fast  drumming  or  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from   slow  to  mid  paced  riffs  that  combine  melodic  doom  metal  with  some  black  metal  influences  as  well  as  some  soft  and  clean  playing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  doom  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  range  from  death  metal  growls  that  are  very  easy  to  understand  as  well  as  some  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  depressive  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy,  dark  and  professional  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  October  Tide  and  if  you  are a  fan  of this  band,  you  should  enjoy  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Our  Constellation"  "Watch The  Drowners"  and  "In  Hopeless Pursuit".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
