Witches Mark are a band from Texas that plays a mixture of heavy, power, speed, thrash, death, doom and black metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Witching Metal Ritual" which was released by Heaven And Hell Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the synths which are only used briefly bring a very dark and symphonic sound to the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine heavy, power, thrash, speed, death, doom and black metal to create a sound of their own along with a good amount of melody being thrown into the riffing, while the lead are very melodic and old school sounding power/speed metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals range from clean singing power metal vocals, thrash style singing, deep death metal growls and high pitched black metal screams as w ell as a brief use of spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover darkness, occultism and true metal themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy, old school and professional sound where you can heat all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Witches Mark are a very great sounding hybrid of heavy, power, speed, thrash, death, doom and black metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bringers Of Heavy Metal Death" "Salem's Fire" and "Witching Metal Ritual". RECOMMENDED BUY.
