This is the final review of a recording from Mourner which continues their blackened mixture of crust and hardcore with the ep being self released in 2012 and called "The Rising End".
The ep starts out with some harsh noise distortion before going into a heavy and fast direction along with some hardcore style screams as well as mixing in slow, dark and melodic sections to give this music an even more dark color.
As the ep moves on their a lot of d and blast beats being added into the music and by the time the 3rd song comes around powerful sounding bass guitars are added into the music along with some more blackened elements as well as a touch of post hardcore and the ep uses more fast parts and black metal influences than the previous recordings.
Song lyrics cover darkness and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and dark sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this ep.
In my opinion this is another great sounding ep from Mourner and if you are a fan of blackened crust/hardcore, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Knives Twist" "Darkest of Dreams" and "The Rising End". RECOMMENDED BUY.
