Aepoch are a band from Ontario, Canada that plays technical blackened death metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 demo.
The demo starts out with a very dark, heavy and progressive sound along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them as well as some leads which also leads up to some blackened death metal vocals and after awhile the music starts to speed up a bit.
As the ep continues the music gets more technical as well as bringing in more old school death metal elements and you can also hear a good amount of melody in the guitar solos and leads along with traces of progressive metal.
Aepoch cover a good amount of ground with their music taking old school technical death metal and adding in progressive and black metal to create a sound of their own and they show a good amount of skill and talent.
Song lyrics cover scientific and philosophical themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Aepoch are a very decent sounding technical blackened death metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Plummet". 7/5 out of 10.
