Emperor Of Myself are a band from Greece that plays a gothic form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "All Ends In tears".
The album starts out with a very heavy and melodic sound along with some blackened metal vocals and a few seconds later clean singing gothic vocals are added into the album along with some doom metal elements and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and after awhile symphonic elements are added into the music.
When the album goes into other songs the music takes a very melodic gothic/doom metal sound while also having traces of black metal in the music and they also bring solos and leads into the recording along with a mixture of clean and heavy parts and after awhile acoustic guitars are added into certain sections of the recording along with a brief use of female vocals.
With this album Emperor Of Myself go back to the early 90's era of gothic death/doom metal while also having a good amount of black metal influences and a great amount of melody to create a sound of their own.
Song lyrics cover dark, melancholic and poetic themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this album.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Emperor of Myself and if you are a fan of blackened, gothic doom/death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Dont Care" "I Blame You" "Hours Of Madness" and "Words Of Dying". 8 out of 10.
