Exxxekutioner are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of black metal, speed, thrash and punk and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Feat The priest" which was released by Ulthar Records.
Distorted sounds start off the ep along with the sounds of violence before drums kick in and the music starts going for a more heavy and old school thrash metal sound and a few seconds later black metal screams find their way into the music which also takes the music into a more raw direction along with some blast beats and a great amount of fast guitar riffing.
The band really starts to find their sound on the later tracks going back to first wave black metal and mixing it in with thrash and speed metal along with the raw energy of punk rock to create a sound that is very retro yet heavy and brutal all at the same along with second wave style black metal screams and the bass guitars also have a very powerful sounding presence on all 6 of the tracks and the lead guitars go back to the early 80's style of German thrash metal when they are utilized and you can also hear a small amount of melody in the bands musical sound at times.
Exxxekutioner go back to 1984 era thrash,, death, black, speed metal and punk and combine all of these extreme genres with a more second wave black metal vocal approach to create their heavy and old school sound, the production sounds very professional and modern and updates the bands retro style for 2014 while the lyrics cover darkness and anti religion themes.
In my opinion Exxekutioner are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash, speed metal and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "marched To Death" and "Black Witchery". 8/5 out of 10.
