Boil The Whore are a band from Vermont that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Womb Rot".
Hospital noises start off the ep along with some powerful sounding bass guitars which leads to a more heavy and melodic direction along with some black metal screams and deep death metal growls and the band also brings in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in modern metal elements at times.
Blast beats can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the guitar solos and leads are very melodic sounding and the band also brings in a good mixture of both black and death metal elements into their musical sound and on the 4th track you can hear a small amount of ambient being mixed in with the music before returning back to a heavier direction.
Boil the Whore have a very modern sound with their approach to blackened death metal along with a good balance between melody and brutality, the production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Boil The Whore are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "When the Wolves Are Upon Us" and "Black Dragon Sorcerer". 8 out of 10.
