Melora where a band from Texas that played a progressive and technical form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Parasitic Empire" which was released by Torn Flesh Records.
Sound effects start off the ep before going into a more heavy and technical direction along with some blast beats and death metal growls and you can also hear a decent amount of melody in the bands musical sound along with a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as a great amount of talent and skill being displayed throughout the recording.
Black metal screams can be heard in certain sections of the recording and after awhile solos and leads are added into the music and they enhance the technical elements that are a huge part of the recording and the guitar riffing and blast beats add in a more brutal sound as the ep progresses.
Melora brings in a very progressive and technical approach to blackened death metal as well as demonstrating a great amount of talent and skill on all 5 of the tracks that are present on this ep, the production sounds very heavy and powerful while the lyrics cover violent and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Melora are a very great sounding progressive and technical blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Axiom" and "Blades". 8 out of 10.
