Whore Of Bethlehem are a band from Texas that plays a very brutal and blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "Under Judas Throne".
A very dark and heavy old school death metal sound starts off the album which leads up to a faster direction along with some brutal blast beats and growling vocals and a few seconds later black metal screams are added into the music and after awhile the band starts to bring in a mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
You can hear some elements of some of the more modern satanic and occult black metal bands in their musical sound while their music is more rooted in a brutal death metal direction and when solos and leads are added into the album it gives the band more of a melodic edge and some of the melodies end up in the riffing at times and also gives the slower parts a slight doom metal feeling at times and on some of the later tracks you can hear a slight thrash influence.
Whore of Bethlehem takes a very brutal style of death metal and mixes it in with the more evil side of black metal to create some very heavy and blasphemous music, the production sounds very professional for be very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Whore Of Bethlehem are a very great sounding brutal blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Upon Judas Throne" "Christ Crusher" "Leviathan's Crown" and "Conjuring Your Death". 8 out of 10.
