Erazor are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Dust Monuments" which was released by Evil Spell Records.
A very dark and heavy black metal sound starts off the album along with some morbid sounding melodies a few seconds later and the music does speed up quite a bit and bring in a decent amount of blast beats at times and the solos and leads the band uses are in a very dark and melodic musical direction.
After the intro and spoken word part the music start s going for more of a blackened thrash met direction which they mix in with the early melodic second wave Swedish sound at times while the vocals are more closer to the first wave black metal sound and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
The songs bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear elements of death metal in the bands musical sound at times and a couple of the later tracks also brings in a brief use of classical guitars before making a return back to a heavier direction a few seconds later but they do close the album with that instrument while a later song also brings in a brief use of ritualistic chants and the last track also adds in a few seconds of human torture.
Erazor plays a style of black metal that is very close to the first wave while also adding a touch of melody from the second wave and a good dose of thrash influences to create a sound of t heir own, the production sounds very old school yet professional at the same time while the lyrics cover Darkness, Destruction and War Themes.
In my opinion Erazor are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Total Might" "Dust Monuments" "From The Abyss To The Void" and "In Her Tower". 8 out of 10.
