Obscene Entity are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of black, death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2015 album "Lamentia" which will be released in November by Tridroid Records.
A very distorted yet melodic sound starts off the album and starts to get heavier after a few minutes along with some black metal screams and death metal style riffing as well as growls being added into some of the vocals and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats are utilized and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of grindcore can be heard quite a but throughout the recording and the music also brings in a very 90's influenced style of extreme metal throughout the recording while the music still has a very modern sound at times and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can be heard before making a return back to a heavier musical direction and when solos and leads are utilized they remain true to an old school death metal direction.
Obscene Entity takes and old school form of death metal and mixes it in with a more modern and blackened style along with some grindcore elements to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based upon the fragility of the mind and psychosis.
In my opinion Obscene Entity are a very great sounding mixture of black, death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Planetary Devastation" "Euphoric Vanity" "Insanity Blinds" and "Stripped Of All And Everything". 8 out of 10.
