Curse Of Denial are a band from Cleveland, Ohio that plays a mixture of black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "The 13th Sign" which will be released in February by Redefining Darkness Records.
Clean guitars start off the album before going into more of a heavy musical direction which also introduces black metal screams onto the recording and the riffs also use a great amount of melody while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and death metal growls are also used at times.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and there is also a brief use of ritualistic whispers and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and as the album progresses more elements of thrash are added onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in back up shouts and there are also a couple of tracks that are very long and epic in length.
Cursed By Denial plays a musical style that takes the old school forms of black, death and thrash metal and mixes them together for the modern days, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Cursed By Denial are a very great sounding mixture of black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pawns In Chess" "Night Terrors" "The Aphotic Stone" "The Tower of Silence" and "Premonition". 8 out of 10.
