Loathfinder are a band from Poland that plays a blackened form of doom metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "The Great Tired Ones" which will be released in April by Godz Ov War Productions.
A very heavy doom metal sound starts off the ep along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and after awhile grim black metal screams and growls are added onto the recording and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion and clean playing is also used briefly.
A decent amount of melody can be heard in some of the guitar riffing while some of the tracks are long and epic in length and some tracks also have their atmospheric moments along with all of the tracks sticking to a very slow musical direction and mixing in touches of 90's era doom/death metal.
Loathfinder plays a musical style that takes doom/death metal and mixes it in with black metal vocals to create a very dark yet heavy recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Loathfinder are a very great sounding blackened doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Feat On My Entrails" and "The Great Tired Ones". 8 out of 10.
