Fractal Generator are a band from Ontario, Canada that plays an experimental and technical mixture of black, death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2017 album "Apotheosynthesis" which will be released in May by Everlasting Spew Records.
Sci fi sounds start off the album before going into a very brutal direction that also utilizes a great amount of blast beats as well as some technical guitar solos and leads and after awhile death metal growls make their presence known along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Melodies can be heard in the music at times along with the growls also getting very guttural while also mixing in black metal screams at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some tracks also add in elements of industrial, experimental and noise mixed in with the brutality and as the album progresses the music starts getting more atmospheric while also mixing in the brutality of grindcore and one track also adds in a brief use of spoken word parts and the last track is very long and epic in length and also adds in a small amount of acoustic guitars.
Fractal Generator plays a musical style that takes technical and brutal death metal and mixes it with black metal, grindcore and experimental music to create something very original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover scientific facts and science fiction themes.
In my opinion Fractal Generator are a very great sounding technical and experimental mixture of black, death metal a nd grindcore and if you a re a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMEDNED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cycl" "Into The Unknown" "The Singularity" and "Reflections". 8 out of 10.
