Bloodlust are a band from Australia that has been featured before in this zine and plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "At The Devil's Left Hand" which will be released in August by Caverna Abismal.
Ritualistic drums start off the album along with some distorted sounds and spoken word parts are also used briefly and after awhile the music goes into a heavier direction along with a great amount of morbid sounding melodies while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while t he music also mixes in elements of thrash, speed and first wave black metal but with a more modern approach and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also add in a small amount of back up shouts.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they remain very true to an old school style of extreme metal and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can be heard while a few seconds of clean singing and death metal growls are also used briefly and a couple of the tracks a re very long and epic in length and on the closing track epic style keyboards are introduced onto the album.
Bloodlust creates another recording that remains true to the blackened thrash metal style that was established on previous releases, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover decaying graveyards, black magick rituals, demonic summoning and Satanism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Bloodlust and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "At The Devil's Left Hand" "Freak Of The Night" and "Shadows Of The Black Sun". 8 out of 10.
