Daeva are a band from Pennsylvania that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Pulsing Dark Absorptions" which will be released in November by 20 Buck Spin.
A very fast sound starts off the ep along with soem blast beats while the music also mixes in elements of thrash, speed and first wave black metal as well as adding in second wave style grim screams and while the music is rooted in the 80's it still retains a modern day feeling.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to t hem while the solos and leads also remain true to an old school style along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the fast riffs also bring in a decent amount of tremolo picking and they close the ep with a cover of Mayhem's "Deathcrush".
Daeva plays a musical style that takes first and second wave black metal and mixes it with 80's trash and a touch of speed metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Daeva are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "No Effective Banishings" and "Descending The Miasmal Void". 8 out of 10.
