Visions Of The Night are a band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "Supreme Act Of War".
Folk instruments and nature sounds start off the album as well as bringing in the sound of war which is also mixed in with the heavier sections of the music at times along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark yet melodic fashion and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams along with the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as mixing atmospheric synths into certain sections of the recording and one track also mixes in elements of thrash.
Visions Of The Night create another recording that remains true to the blackened death metal style that was established on previous releases, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover war and occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Visions Of The Night and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lurking In The Jungles" "Western Trench Line" "Allied Airpower" and "Deus Vault". 8 out of 10.
