Hammr are a duo from Cleveland, Ohio that plays a mixture of black, speed metal and punk and this is a review of their album "Unholy Destruction" which will be released in 2018 by Hells Headbangers.
A very heavy guitar sound starts off the album while the solos and leads are done in a very old school yet extreme metal fashion and after the intro speed, thrash and first wave black metal elements are added into the music while the vocals are mostly black metal screams which are more closer to the second wave.
Blast and d beats can also be heard during the faster sections of the songs along with some elements of punk while some songs also bring in death metal influences which can be heard in t he growling vocals as well as being very heavily rooted in the 80's but also invoking a more modern atmosphere and the music always remains heavy.
Hammr plays a musical style that takes black, speed metal and punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Hammr are a very great sounding mixture of black, speed metal and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Satanic Raid" "Desecrator" "Demonic Rites" and "Into The Pentagram". 8 out of 10.
