Tribulation are a band from Sweden that plays a progressive mixture of black and death metal with some elements of goth and classic rock and this is a review of their 2018 album "Down Below" which was released by Century Media Records.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album along with some melodic guitar leads a few seconds later while all of t he musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with t he vocals being mostly grim black metal screams and the music also incorporates a great amount of goth elements.
Atmospheric synths can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody along with acoustic guitars and clean playing also returning on some of the later tracks as well as the music also mixing in a great amount of 70's rock/metal influences, a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the music usually sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction and as the album progresses a brief use of Gregorian chants can be heard.
Tribultation plays a musical style that takes progressive black and death metal and mixes it with elements of goth and 70's rock and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, occultism and death themes.
In my opinion Tribulation are a very great sounding mixture of black, death, goth, and progressive rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Lament" "Subterranea" "Lacrimosa" and "Here Be Dragons". 8 out of 10.
