Sordid Dogs are a band from Greece that plays a mixture of black metal, d beat and crust punk and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "Necropunk".
A d beat influenced sound starts off the album along with all of the musical instruments havign a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly black metal s creams that mix in both the first and second wave styles along with the music also bringing in a great amount of crust punk elements.
Most of the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's and 90's while still sounding very modern at the same time while the songs also bring in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the tracks being very short in length as well a s the vocals also bringing in more of a shouting approach at times and they close the ep with a cover of Hellhammer's "Massacra".
Sordid Dogs plays a musical style that takes black metal, crust punk and d beat and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover anti society, corruption and nihilism themes.
In my opinion Sordid Dogs are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, d beat and crust punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Filthy Metal Punks" and "The Nuclear City". 8 out of 10.
