Poland's Throneum have returned with a new recording which continues their old school form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "The Tight Deathrope Act over Rubicon" which was released by Hells Headbangers.
Black metal screams along with some heavy riffs and blast beats start off the album while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the music also bringing in a great amount of 80's and 90's influences and the riffing also mixes in a lot of death metal elements.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are done in a very old school style along with some of the tracks being very long and epic in length and when keyboards are used briefly they bring in the atmosphere of a classic horror movie but keeping most of the music in a heavier direction as well as adding in some influences of thrash and a couple of tracks also add in a small amount of clean guitars which also gives the songs a more necro psychedelic feeling.
On this recording Throneum remains true to t heir blackened style of death metal while also adding in more progressive structures to take their sound to another level, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Enochain, Gnosticism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Throneum and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Crossing The Dead River" "Enochian Lexion II" "The Biblical Serpent-The master" and "To Mega Therion". 8 out of 10.
