Doldrey are a band from Singapore that plays a cavernous mixture of punk, black and death metal and this is a review of their self titled ep which was released by Caligari Records.
Distorted amp sounds start off the ep before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the vocals are mostly death metal.
Elements of punk are also added into the music at times while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also having a good amount of 90's influences as well as the music avoiding the use of any solos or leads and always remaining heavy.
Doldrey plays a musical style that takes punk and mixes it with a cavernous style of black/death metal while also displaying a great amount of 90's influences, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover war and violence themes.
In my opinion Doldrey are a very great sounding mixture of punk and cavernous black/death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nyx" and "Torture Paradise". 8 out of 10.
