Regressive are a band from Lithuania that plays a mixture of black'n'roll and speed metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Born In the Grave" which was released by Mythrone Promotion.
A vey heavy thrash metal sound starts off the album along with the solos and leads being done in a very melodic style while the music also mixes in a great amount of speed metal elements as well as the vocals bringing in a first wave style black metal approach and the music mixes in a great amount of black'n'roll touches.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and while the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's it still sounds very modern at the same time. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
During the faster sections of the songs a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with some growls and screams also being utilized at times as well as one track also adding in a brief use of clean playing. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, satanism and blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Regressive are a very great sounding mixture of black'n'roll and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Join Us' "The Devil's Daughter" "Cults Of Death" and "Return To The Tomb". 8 out of 10.
