Diabology are a band from Los Angeles, California that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2020 album "Nobody Believes Me".
Dark soundscapes start off the album before going into a heavier thrash metal direction along with the vocals being done in more of a screaming style that also shows an influence of black metal on some tracks. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic traditional metal style. Clean playing can also be heard briefly along with the vocals also adding in a semi clean tone mixed in with a more rough approach on one of the tracks.
The riffs also add in a decent amount of melody along with the music also adding in a decent mixture of both old school and modern influences and as the album progresses a brief use of back up shouts can also be heard, at times the music also captures the raw energy of hardcore punk. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark, occult and anti religion themes.
In my opinion Diabology are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Deicide" "Seed Of The Prophet" "Lost Viking" and "Silent". 8 out of 10.
