Nexorum are a band from Norway that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Death Unchained" which will be released in March by Non Serviam Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while all of the musical instruments on the recording also h ave a very powerful sound to them. Vocals are mostly death metal growls along with some black metal screams also being utilized at times as well as the solos and leads being done in a very melodic style.
Ritualistic spoken word parts can also be heard briefly while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of blast beats. At times the music also gets very brutal sounding along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the riffs also adding in a small amount of melody, the music also brings in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences and synths can also be heard on a couple of the tracks.
Nexorum plays a musical style that takes the brutality of death metal and mixes it with the darkness of black metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Left Hand Path and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Nexorum are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Saligia Moralis Codice" "Great Horned King" "Antediluvian Purification" and "The Luciferian Descent". 8 out of 10.
