Mexico's Majestic Downfall has returned with a new recording which continues their mixture of black, doom and death metal from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2021 album "Aorta" which will be released in May by Personal Records.
A horror movie orientated atmosphere starts off the album along with a brief use of keyboards before going into a heavier direction. Elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the songs along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and clean playing can also be heard in some parts of the recording.
All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly death metal growls along with some black metal screams also being utilized at times. All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and the solos and leads are also done in a very dark yet melodic style.
A lot of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era along with some more modern influences also being mixed into the musical style as well as a small amount of blast beats also being utilized when the music finally speeds up, classical guitars can also be heard briefly and one song also introduces whispers and spoken word parts into the music and most of the music focuses on a slower direction. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover human disgust themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Majestic Downfall and if you are a fan of blackened doom/death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Dying Crown" and "Become Eternal". 8 out of 10.
