Ewig Frost are a band from Austria that plays a mixture of black'n'roll, speed metal and punk and this is a review of their 2021 album "Ain't No Saint" which was released by Discos Macarras.
A very heavy black'n'roll influenced sound starts off the album along with some blackened screams a few seconds later. The music also brings in elements of speed metal while also capturing the raw energy of punk rock as well as mixing an 80's style with a more modern sound and you can also hear all of the musical instruments on the recording.
Touches of thrash metal can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. Backup shouts are also added on some of the tracks along with some of the faster sections of the songs also adding in a small amount of tremolo picking and blast beats.
A couple of tracks also introduces trumpets and trombones onto the recording and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic classic rock style along with some rockabilly style keyboards also being added on the alter song as well as some of the vocals also mixing in a semi melodic tone, as the album progresses a brief use of female vocals can also be heard. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover greed, love, addiction, desire, prejudice, politics and class warfare.
In my opinion Ewig Frost are a very great sounding mixture of black'n'roll, speed metal and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Into The Night" "1918" "Back on Wheels" and "Mary Jane". 8 out of 10.
