Sweden's Siniestro have returned with a new recording which continues the mixture of black, death, thrash metal and punk from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2021 album "Vortexx" which was released by Black Lodge Records.
A very heavy thrash metal influenced sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the vocals being a mixture of aggressive harcore style shouts and high pitched black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the music also captures the raw energy of punk rock at times. Death metal growls are also added into some parts of the recording along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Tremolo picking is also added into some of the faster riffing along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some acoustic and classical guitars being brought into the music on occasion, a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and at times the vocals also adapt more of a semi melodic tone. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also add in a great amount of melody and there are also a couple of instrumentals, keyboards can also be heard briefly towards the end. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Siniestro and if you are a fan of black, death, thrash metal and punk, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "One Last Bullet One Last Ride" "Black Acid Rain" and "Anti Human Commando". 8 out of 10.
