Svdestada are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of black'n'roll and neo crust and this is a review of their self released 2021 album "Azabache".
A very powerful sounding bass guitar starts off the album along with a brief use of clean playing and spoken word samples before going into a heavier musical direction. Elements of crust can also be heard at times while the vocals are mostly blackened metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
Black metal style tremolo picking is also added into some of the faster riffing while the mid tempo sections of the songs also show an influence of black'n'roll. Melodiea are also added into some of the riffs along with the solos and leads also being done in a very dark yet distorted style as well as the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of folk instruments, clean vocals and spoken word parts can also be heard and clean playing also makes a return.
Svdestada plays a musical style that t akes black'n'roll and neo crust and mixes them together to create a sound of thie r own. The production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover personal growth, elements and social observations of reality. themes.
In my opinion Svdestada are a very great sounding mixture of black'n'roll and neo crust and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Azabache" "Pesomuerto" "Petricor" and "Sotavento". 8 out of 10.
