Black Hosts are a band from Poland that plays a mixture of black, thrash and speed metal and this is a review of their 2021 demo "Onward Into The Abyss" which will be released in July by Helldprod Records.
A very heavy thrash metal influenced sound starts off the demo while the faster sections of the songs also add in a lot of blast beats. Vocals are mostly done in a first wave black metal style along with the music also adding in a great amount of speed metal elements and the music is also heavily rooted in the 80's but modern at the same time.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain very true to an old school style along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the riffing as well as some chants also being utilized briefly and the whole demo also sticks to a heavier direction.
Black Hosts plays a musical style that takes black, thrash and speed metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Evil and Medieval themes.
In my opinion Black Hosts are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Black Sorcerer" and "...The Abyss". 8 out of 10.
