Rivers Ablaze are a band from Hungary that plays an experimental and progressive mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Devoid Dying Sun" which will be released in August by Metal.hu.
Tragic sounding keyboard start off the album along with some heavier riffing a few seconds later while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard and the riffs also add in a later of melody.
At times the music also gets very progressive and experimental sounding while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some songs also adding in a small amount of clean playing as well as all of the album also being instrumental, most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Rivers Ablaze plays a musical style that t akes black and death metal and mixes it with some progressive and experimental elements to create a sound of their own as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very professional.
In my opinion Rivers Ablaze are a very great sounding experimental, instrumental and progressive mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Manifestation Of Supreme Darkness" and "When Silence Fades To Nothingness". 8 out of 10.
