Summoner's Circle are a band from Knoxville, Tennessee that plays a progressive mixture of black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Chaos Vector" which will be released in August by Blood Blast Distribution.
Whispered vocals and distorted soundscapes start off the album before going into more of a heavier and progressive musical direction. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while all of the instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and black emtal screams.
Keyboards are also added into some parts of the music while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with some elements of doom metal also being added into the slower sections of the songs as well as some tremolo picking also being added into some of the faster riffing. Some of the tracks also add in a small amount of clean playing and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and as the recording progresses a brief use of stringed instruments, clean male and female vocals can also be heard. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album and cover cosmic horror themes.
In my opinion Summoner's Circle are a very great sounding progressive mixture of black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Of Black Horizons" "Chaos Vector" and "The Beyond". 8 out of 10.
