Aeon are a band from Sweden that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "God Ends Here" which will be released in October by Metal Blade Records.
Melodic guitar leads and solos start off the album along with some heavier riffing a few seconds later while synths can also be heard on a few tracks. When the music speeds up a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats can be heard as well as the vocals being mostly death metal growls and black metal screams are also utilized at times.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the mid 90's era while dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads also remaining true to an old school style.
Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and as the album progresses a small amount of choirs and orchestra sounds can also be heard on a few tracks before returning back to a heavier direction. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Aeon and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Liar's Den" "Deny Them Eternity" "Just One Kill" and "Queen of Lies". 8 out of 10.
