Deathhammer are a duo from Norway that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Electric Warfare" which will be released on February 25th by Hells Headbangers.
A very distorted sound starts off the album along with a brief use of demonic voices before going into a heavier thrash metal influenced direction. Blast beats are also added into some of the faster sections of the songs along with the vocals bringing in more of an early 80's German style vocal similar to early Destruction.
At times the vocals also get semi melodic while the music also adds in a great amount of first wave black metal elements. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain very true to an old school style along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, back up shouts are also added into certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses the solos and leads also start going into a more melodic direction and the whole album also sticks to a heavier direction.
On this recording Deathhammer remains true to the blackened style of thrash metal that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Death, Blasphemy, Satanism, Darkness and Violence themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Deathhammer and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Crushing The Pearly Gates" "Rapid Violence" and "Violent Age Of Bloodshed". 8 out of 10.
