Elegeion are a b and from Australia that plays an atmospheric mixture of black, doom and gothic metal and this is a review of their self released 2022 album "Plight Of The Heretic".
Stringed instruments and percussion starts off the album before adding in some melodic guitar solos and leads. Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly while the slower sections of the songs also b ring in elements of doom metal along with all of the tracks also being very long and epic in length.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the female vocals also add in some gothic touches. Melodies are also added into a ,lot of the guitar riffing along with some black metal screams also being utilized at times and also add in touches of dsbm, a couple of tracks also introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording and the whole album also sticks to a slower direction.
Elegeion plays a musical style that takes atmospheric black, doom and gothic metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover depression, suicide and isolation themes.
In my opinion Elegeion are a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of black, doom and gothic metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Plight Of The Heretic" and "The Blazing Tempest". 8 out of 10.
