Baalzagoth are a band from Poland that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a blackened form of death metal with elements of doom metal and this is a review of their 2026 album "No God, No Savior" which will be released in June by Putrid Cult.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while the vocals bring in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also bring in more of a 90's style along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and when the music speeds up a lot of brutal blast beats can be heard.
Tremolo picking is also added into some of the fast riffing while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
Some of the slower riffing also shows an influence of doom/death metal as well as a couple of tracks also adding in a small amount of choirs and clear singing, spoken words can also be heard briefly and a later track is also an instrumental that also introduces synths and acoustic guitars onto the album. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Demonology, Blasphemy and Anti Christianity.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Baalzagoth and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "True Messiah" "Behemoth" "no God, No Savior" and "Gloria Apostasiae". 8 out of 10.
