Vermord are a band from Maryland that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Dawn Of The Black Harvest" which was released by Grimoire Records.
Atmospheric sounds start off the ep along with the feeling of a fantasy movie soundtrack and after the intro the music starts going for a heavier direction along with some melodies and blast beats and the music also brings in high pitched black metal screams and deep death metal growls and they also add in melodic guitar leads.
At times the music can be very technical and progressive and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear a great amount of talent and skill being displayed in the solos and leads.
Vermord plays a musical style that takes a European style of black metal and mixes it with technical and brutal death metal to create their own sound, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Vermord are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ophite Cultus Satanas" and "Dark Harvest". 8 out of 10.
