Deathwhite are a band from Pennsylvania that has been featured before in this zine and plays a melodic, gothic and blackened form of doom metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "For A Black Tomorrow" which will be released in March.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the album and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording while acoustic guitars are also added into certain sections of the songs along with the vocals being done in a clean singing fashion and you can also hear a touch of post black metal in the riffing.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and the acoustic sections of the songs also gives the music more of a progressive edge while the slow riffs are also very heavily influenced by doom and goth metal and synths are also used briefly and the songs stick to mostly a slow or mid paced direction.
Deathwhite creates another recording that remains true to the goth and doom metal mixture of previous releases while still mixing in elements of post black metal, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark, depressive, and existential themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Deathwhite and if you are a fan of doom, goth and post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Grace Of The Dark" "Just Remember" "Death And The Master" and "For A Black Tomorrow". 8 out of 10.
