Paroxsihzem are a band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Abyss Of Excruciating Vexes" which was re-issued on cassette in 2017 by Krucyator Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the ep along with some drum beats and after awhile the music speeds up with a great amount of blast beats while also adding in guttural death metal growls and you can also hear a great amount of black metal influences in the band s musical style.
When solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very chaotic black/death metal style and the fast riffs also use a decent amount of tremolo picking while a great amount of dissonant structures are utilized and after awhile black metal s creams are added into certain sections of the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and doom metal elements in the tracks and they close the ep with a cover of Arkhon Infaustus's "Dead Cunt Maniac".
Paroxsihzem creates another recording that remains true to the modern black/death metal style of previous releases, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover history, philosophy, psychology and suicide themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Parossihzem and if you are a fan of blackened death metal, you should c heck out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bellicose Psychosis" and "Isolation". 8 out of 10.
