Orbseven are a solo project from Texas that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of experimental, ambient, black and death metal and this is a review of his self released 2017 album "Cosmos Out Of Chaos".
Stringed instruments start off the album along with some clean guitars a few seconds later and after a couple of minutes the music starts going into more of a heavier direction along with some melodic riffing and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
Ambient sounds also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while clean vocals are also added into certain sections of the recording and the songs also mix in the heaviness of black and death metal.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the songs also adding in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and on the second track black metal screams and death metal growls are finally added onto the recording and some of the fast riffs also add in a decent amount of tremolo picking and as the album progresses the music starts getting more experimental.
Orbseven creates another recording that remains true to the experimental mixture of ambient, black, and death metal from his previous release, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover a journey to the unknown.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Orbseven and if you are a fan of experimental, ambient, black and death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Descent Of Spirit Into Matter" and "This World That Is Of The Unclean". 8 out of 10.
