Nag are a band from Norway that plays a mixture of black metal, crust and hardcore punk and this is a review of their 2018 album "Nagged To Death" which will be released in November by Fysisk Format.
Drum beats start off the album before going into a heavier direction along with some hardcore style shouting while the music also brings in elements of d beat and crust punk along with most of the songs being under 3 minutes in length and blast beats are added into the faster sections of the music.
A great amount of Norwegian black metal elements can be heard in the bands musical style while angry screams are also used at times along with the faster riffs also adding in a decent amount of tremolo picking as well as the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and a later track also introduces a small amount of clean vocals onto the recording.
Nag plays a musical style that takes black metal, crust and hardcore punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover a hatred towards anything human.
In my opinion Nag are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, crust and hardcore punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sigh" "No Rest For The Blessed" "Rainbow Children" and "Ordinary Men". 8 out of 10.
