This is a review of another recording from Domain which also shows the music going for more of a blackened death metal style and the album was originally released in 1999 and called "...From Oblivion..." which was re-issued in 2018 by Old Temple.
A very heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while the riffs also use a decent amount of dark sounding melodies. Vocals are mostly death metal growls along with some spoken word parts, clean vocals and grim black metal also being used at times and middle eastern style folk instruments are also used briefly.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while some of the riffing also adds in the more mid tempo first wave black metal style with more of a 90's era heaviness and there are also a few ritualistic instrumental tracks as the album progresses.
Synths can also be heard briefly along with one track also introducing spoken word parts onto the recording and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing, percussion's and acoustic guitars can also be heard. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Sumerian Mythology, Supernatural and Darkness themes.
In my opinion this was another great sounding recording form Domain and if you are a fan of old school blackened death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Supernatural" "Ritual Combat" "Devilri" and "Nar Mattaru". 8 out of 10.
