Vectis are a band from Portugal that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2020 ep "No Mercy For The Weak" which will be released in March by Hellprod Productions.
A very heavy and old school sound starts off the ep while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic and old school style and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard.
The tracks also bring in a great amount of thrash metal elements along with the vocals are mostly blackened metal screams while the songs also mix in influences from the first wave era of that genre but with a more modern take. The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow and mid tempo parts as well as always sticking to a heavier musical direction and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them.
On this recording Vectis remains true to the blackened thrash metal style that had established on their previous release. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Destruction themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Vectis and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Satanic Force" and "Evil Possession". 8 out of 10.
