Indrid Cold are a band from Czechia that plays a mixture of black, doom and post metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Monument Prázdnoty" which will be released in June by Sliptrick Records.
Dark soundscapes start off the album along with some keyboards and melodic riffing a few seconds later. Elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the songs while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads also add in a lot of melody.
Vocals are done in mostly an angry blackened metal style while the faster sections of the songs also add in a small amount of blast beats but keeping the main focus on more of a slow or mid tempo style. The music also adds in a great amount of post metal influences along with one of the songs also introducing clean playing onto the album, a s the recording progresses a brief use of fast tremolo picking and spoken word parts can also be heard.
Indrid Cold plays a musical style that takes black, doom and post metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover darkness and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Indrid Cold are a very great sounding mixture of black, doom and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Propojeni" "Animus" and "Katharse". 8 out of 10.
