Urtiden are a solo project from Sweden that plays a mixture of black, heavy metal and punk an d this is a review of his self released 2021 demo "Iron Age Nomad Axe".
Synths start off the demo before going into a heavier direction which also mixes in elements of early 80's metal. Vocals are mostly blackened metal screams while the music also captures the raw energy of punk rock. When guitar solos and leads ar e utilized they also remain true to an old school style of metal
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while most of the music also sticks to a mid tempo direction as well as a brief use of melodic chants being added on the closing track.
Urtiden plays a musical style that t akes black, heavy metal and punk and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Urtiden are a very great sounding mixture of black, heavy metal and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Die By The Slayer". 8 out of 10.
