Existential Emptiness are a band from Chile that plays a mixture of black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Neverending Pain-Everlasting Sorrow" which will be released on June 21st by Australis Records.
Dark soundscapes start off the album while the only track presented on the album is over 31 minutes in length. Synths can also be heard briefly along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them and the guitar solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls while the faster sections of the song also add a great amount of blast beats. Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the track along with some atmospheric sounds also being used briefly.
Dark sounding melodies can also be heard in the guitar riffing along with some whispered vocals also being utilized at times. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the track also bringing clean playing into certain sections of the song and towards the end a brief use of spoken word parts can also be heard. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based upon an individual that goes through an existential crisis.
In my opinion Existential Emptiness are a very great sounding mixture of black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. 8 out of 10.
