Korgull The Exterminator/Sharpen Your Spikes/Xtreem Music/2020 CD Review

  Korgull  The  Exterminator  are  a  band  from  Spain  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  thrash  and  speed  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Sharpent  Your  Spikes"  which  will  be  released  in  September  by  Xtreem  Music.

  An  acoustic  guitar  intro  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  brief  use  of  horse  sounds  and  soundscapes  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.

  Vocals  are  mostly  blackened  screams  which  mix  both  the  first  and  second  wave  era  together  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  a  great  amount  of  thrash  metal  elements. Tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  faster  riffing  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  sticking  to  an  old  school  style.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  the  music  also  adding  in  some  influences  of  speed  metal  and  a  few  touches  of  punk  and  traditional  metal,  the  music  also  makes  an  80's  style  sound  more  modern.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the lyrics  cover  war,  battle  and  fantasy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Korgull  The  Exterminator  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black,  thrash  and  speed  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Prophecy  Of  Black  Blood"'  "Battle  Ram"  "Firing  Squad"  and  "Sword  And  Sorcery".  8  out  of  10.
