Der Trauerschwan are a solo project from Sweden that plays a mixture of black and doom metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Sanguinare Vampiris" which will b e released in November by Soulseller Records.
Horror movie style keyboards start off the album and also mixes in with t he heavier sections of the songs at times. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them and elements of doom metal a re added into the slower sections of the songs.
Vocals a re mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the riffs also add in a great amount of melody. Clean playing can also be heard on some of the tracks along with some of the songs also being very long and epic in length as well as the music also being very heavily rooted in the 90's era and the whole recording also sticks to a slower direction, stringed instruments can also be heard briefly towards the end.
Der Trauerschwan plays a musical style that takes black and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are are inspired by the poets of the Roman=tic Age as well as covering dome vampirism themes.
In my opinion Der Trauerschwan are a very great sounding mixture of black and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Of Broken Vows And Sorrow" and "Cor Codium". 8 out of 10.
