Deadnight are a band from Chicago, Illinois that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2022 ep "Canon Of Irreverence".
A very heavy thrash metal influenced sound starts off the ep while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast b eats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style and the vocals are mostly black metal screams that are heavily rooted in the first wave style.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 80's while also capture a modern day brutality at the same time. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the riffs also adding in a small amount of melody at times and all of the music also sticks to a heavier direction.
Deadnight plays a musical style that goes back to the 80's era of black and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover misanthropy, genocide, death and Armageddon themes.
In my opinion Deadnight are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal and if you are a f an of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. ECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shape of Countless Suffering" and "Circle of Rats". 8 out of 10.
